This is an occasional and somewhat random list of the indie movies I've discovered along the way. You might like to rent one or two just to see if you share the same taste in movies as I do.
Page Eight
If you like well made movies set in London featuring Bill Nighty and all about spooks, then this movie is for you. I liked this one a lot. Class production.

Hesher
This was a little hard to like at first, as the star isn't at all nice, but despite us being tired, we couldn't leave till it was over, the story pulled us in. Funny in part and tragic in others. Despite the low-budget format, you'll recognize Natalie Portland, Rainn Wilson and 3rd Rock's Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing the despicable Hesher.

Peep World
This might not even strictly be an indie movie, but it feels like one. Lowish budget but with a really strong cast including Miss Sarah Silverman who I always find a treat on the large or small screen. The movie moves along so swiftly that before you know it, the thing is over.

Paper Man
In this house, we're big fans of accidental discoveries, a good example is this movie. We'd not heard of it before though the three main actors are well known to all.

Lars And The Real Girl
Another indie movie that is way better than the title might suggest. Thankfully not Hollywood formulaic, so no car chases and shoot outs with the cops.

All My Friends Are Funeral Singers
Another gem I think we found only because the band Califone wrote and perform in the movie. The title song is really catchy. Don't want to use this space to give the plot away, just think you should go watch it.

The Station Agent
We saw this a while ago, and I think we're about ready to see it again. Co-stars the very talented Patricia Clarkson (Pieces of April)

I'm Here
A short movie by the unique Spike Jonze. I'm Here is about unconditional love, oh and I've gone and said too much already. Amazon will sell you the book, movie DVD and CD soundtrack as a beautifully presented package. Do it now!

Skeletons
Interesting movie about a couple of ordinary chaps who remove skeletons from people's closets. Set in England it draws you in as it goes. A well acted and thoughtful movie with a Dead Can Dance-esque soundtrack. Two of the actors have killer cool real-life names, namely: Tuppence and Paprika!

Pieces of April
Why is this movie so damn good? Great actors and a great script probably. Patricia Clarkson is so very watchable.
